Onshape, the industry leading cloud mechanical CAD platform combines design, release management, workflows, collaboration, analytics and admin tools. Duro’s cloud PLM platform compliment’s Onshape with its advanced automated manufacturing and production workflows. This includes state of the art Product Lifecycle Management (with both out-of-the-box and custom Enterprise PLM packages), centralized agile workflow revision management, and dynamic supply chain management.

Using Duro’s cloud PLM app, Onshape users can increase communication and transparency across teams with Duro’s simple 2-click process to release approved designs and production files to Duro’s centralized web repository. Further, Duro provides additional value to companies by allowing users to seamlessly:

  • Merge engineering design work with downstream sourcing, manufacturing and production processes.

  • Connect engineers directly with suppliers, including the most popular commercial off-the-shelf parts distributors (e.g. McMaster-Carr, DigiKey, Arrow, and many more).

  • Automate conversion of Onshape production files into industry standard file formats stored in a revision controlled repository to easily share with approved manufacturing suppliers.

  • Increase visibility and communication between engineering and procurement teams.

“Duro helps extend the value of Onshape by providing visibility into the production and manufacturing operations of an organization”, said Joe Dunne, Director of Technical Partnerships at Onshape ” Onshape has proven instrumental in allowing manufacturing companies to build better, save time, and gain competitive advantages over old legacy desktop engineering software. The Duro integration further extends that advantage.”

With Duro’s cloud PLM app, all part and assembly data is normalized into a common format with consistent part numbering, naming, and revisioning; making for a smoother transition into production. In turn, this enables hardware companies to cut costs, increase efficiency, and reduce risk throughout all phases of product development and production.
